Connect and use Coconut.you

Coconut.you is long-term memory for your AI agents. Each coconut is a private knowledge graph for one project, client or person. Connect an agent once and it can load, save and recall memory across all your AI tools.

1. Create an account

Sign up at coconut.you/signup with Google. The free plan includes unlimited coconuts and 200,000 graph nodes. No card is needed.

2. Connect your AI tool

Every client uses the same server address. Sign-in happens in your browser the first time the tool connects, so there is no key to copy.

https://mcp.coconut.you/mcp
  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, paste the address, then approve in the browser window that opens.
  • Claude Code: run claude mcp add --transport http coconut "https://mcp.coconut.you/mcp"
  • ChatGPT: Settings, Apps, Developer mode, Add custom connector, paste the address.
  • Cursor and VS Code: open any coconut in the app, choose Connect an agent, and use Add to Cursor or Add to VS Code.
  • Any other MCP client: add a remote (Streamable HTTP) server with the address above.

To limit a tool to one coconut, use that coconut’s own address instead: open it in the app and choose Connect an agent, Only this coconut. That connection can never see your other coconuts.

Bring the notes you already have

Claude Code and other tools keep their own memory files on your computer. Import them into a coconut with one command, run in your own terminal:

npx coconut-you import --dry-run

The dry run lists every file it found and how many secrets it will redact, and sends nothing. Run it again without --dry-run to sign in through your browser, pick a coconut, confirm, and import. API keys, tokens and passwords are replaced with [redacted] on your machine before anything is sent. Pass files or folders to import something else, for example npx coconut-you import ./notes --new "Client work".

3. Use it

You don’t need special commands. Talk to your assistant as usual; it checks memory first and saves what it learns. For example:

  • “What do you remember about the Acme launch?”
  • “Remember that the launch moved to 14 November because legal needs an extra week.”
  • “Make a coconut for my Q1 hiring plan.”
  • “Share the Acme coconut with priya@example.com, read only.”

Everything your agents save shows up in the app, where you can read, edit, export or delete it.

Tools

Read: load_memory, whoami, recall, get_memory, search, traverse, get_ontology, brain_stats, list_coconuts, search_marketplace.

Write: remember, log_activity, forget, update_ontology, describe_coconut, create_coconut.

Read tools never change anything. forget deletes one memory and is marked destructive. Sharing a coconut, and accepting one shared with you, happen in the app, not through an agent.

Sharing and Coconut Hub

Share one whole coconut by email, read or read and write; the person sees it only after accepting and never sees your other coconuts. Revoke any time; access ends within about 30 seconds. You can also publish a coconut on Coconut Hub for free or at a price you set.

Privacy and security

Every request is checked against your connection and the coconuts it may reach. Your data is never used to train models. See the privacy policy and how a coconut is protected.
